Meditation and Mildewed Clothes

Lots of exciting things this week. First of all I am not surprised to hear about the rain there becuase it has been raining everyday here. And not just a little bit... our house is always flooding and our clothes are never dry. We wake up in the morning really cold which is kind of nice. We had interviews this week with president and hermana Nuckols. They are prepping their house for the 10 of us who are finishing to have a sleepover there. D. also had his interview with president. It was a little bit intense because I had to translate for him and he was very direct in his questions but all is well and he will be getting baptised this week.

The familia de C. and D. are doing great and strengthening their faith every day. It's been so amazing to see them grow in the gospel. Thursday we had a lesson as always with elder and hermana Cornish and R. This week he taught us how to meditate. He literally meditates and he has some weird ideas but in the end he believes meditation is a spiritual state in which we can ask God for things and receive answers. We are making progress! So president came out with numbers of excellence that he is going to announce to the mission but he wants the leaders in the mission to start meeting these numbers now so he can be like "look its possible."  We are working super hard to acheive them and we are receiving so many blessing but we are SO tired. so so tired.

This week we got a new lavadora which maybe was the biggest blessing of the week becuase we have been wearing wet clothes that smell like mildew for like 2 weeks. Yes, it's been lovely. We had intercambios with the ccm and we went to see D..  At the end of the lesson he was talking about how he doesn't have a job and isn't making any money and I was going to have a heart attack because I thought he was going to ask for money but then he said "if I don't make any money how can I be baptized because I won't be able to pay my tithing?"   So Sweet!  Then we went to a menos activo who is super old and sick but she was NAKED in her bed. I was horrified but I have been in this country and have seen a lot. But the hermanas of the ccm looked like they wanted to die. I was laughing so hard.

Sunday three members brought us food to eat. Man, such blessings! Also, Sunday was the best Sunday of my life. The spirit was So strong.  Everyone that bore their testimonies was crying. W., the dad of fam de C., got up to bear his testimony
but he couldn't because he was so emotional. It has been amazing to see so many people come unto Christ and accept the gospel in their lives. Love you all a lot!    Hermana Madison Rush
