Seriously Super!!

HELLO! I seriously can't believe it has been a whole week. The time is starting to go by faster so that's good.  On Tuesday a member of the yw presidency went out with us to meet with some menos activo jovenes (less active YW) because there are a ton of them. She kept saying really weird things. She was pretty old so I think she was kind of out of it. We sang Hope of Israel and she was trying to sing a separate part but we sounded SUPER terrible and I seriously had to plug my nose to keep from laughing.  But she is sweet.  At the end we asked her if there was anything we could help her with, meaning cleaning or something, and she said that sometimes she has a hard time paying her medical bills... awkward.
Monday night we had a super super awesome visit with an investigator named D.  It was about the book of Mormon and the other Hermanas were with us too.  The spirit was just testifying.  We set a fecha (date) with her too.  She is so sweet and we love meeting with her because she just asks the greatest questions. Wednesday we got up super early to go to a zone conference in Bani which meant riding the gua gua. no fun.  The conference was great but I understood not very much of it (English is slipping-yea!).  But what I did understand was great.  Hermana Rodriguez (Mission Pres. Wife) is always great. She got up and talked about drinking water, passing kidney stones and what to do when your testicles hurt.  Yes, she really did say that over the pulpit!  They also made me play the piano which was pretty awesome... not!  They picked four of the hardest songs in the hymn book, one of which doesn't even exist in the English hymn book.  I struggled through them all but, eh, whatever, I was the only one there that knew how to play.
Mom, do you know someone from walnut creek named Alysha Williams? Apparently she grew up in walnut creek and is the mom of one of the elders moms(eh? isn't that the elder's grandma?).  I bought some plastic shoes in Bani so hopefully my other shoes will last longer.  We also discovered a Haitian flea market in Ocoa and it is AWESOME!  On Thursday I invited two people to be baptized.  It was so awesome!  The second guy we have been teaching for awhile and he is seriously so great.  After we invited him, he told us that he loves this gospel so much and it has changed his life and he can't wait to be baptized.  And he was crying.  It was seriously so great.  We had a meeting with the yw president. The other counselor in the presidency is 15 and she is the greatest thing ever.  Then we taught English class and SO many people showed up. I think it will be a good way for us to find investigators.
On Friday we had to cut off two investigatos- it was super sad.  They told us they love the gospel but they don't want to get married yet.  I was crying because I was so sad and they felt bad so they made us a banana smoothie, which was super yummy.  So then we went to teach L and her family who we love sooo much. We went to their house and the light bulb was out so it was really dark, but we were like whatever, it's fine.  But then about halfway through the lesson I see A TON of cockroaches climbing up the walls.  And these aren't like Arizona cockroaches. They were probably 4 inches long and had wings. I was pretty much freaking out on the inside but no body else was saying anything so I just had to silently endure. I was just itching to get out of there so we ended the lesson and I breathed a huge sigh of relief.   But THEN she hands us huge bowls of rice.  Bless her heart she is the sweetest lady ever and takes such good care of us.  It took me seriously 45 minutes to eat the rice all while watching cockrcoaches crawl and fly in the house. I am pretty sure I counted 27.   Oh also, on Friday I got kissed... by a man selling fruit. We went up to his truck and hermana D shook his hand and then went to look at the fruit.   Then I went to shake his hand but he gave me both his hands so I shook both.   He was holding onto my hands really tight and I was like...hmm, this is weird and then before I knew it he had leaned out the window pulled my arms and went in for the kill.... luckily I was able to give him the cheek. I was seriously so shocked!  But he still didn't let go and hermana D heard the kissing noise and I was just saying "hermana.... hermana...." and then we ran away.  Seriously SO GROSS!!
On Saturday I started the book of Mormon over but in SPANISH. I don't understand much but I pray constantly for the gift of tongues. On Sunday we went to church. One menos activo we have been meeting with showed up which we were super happy about.  She is recently divorced and has two little girls so that's why she doesn't go to church. In Sunday school her little girl was being seriously a terror and the mom was getting super overwhelmed.  I was praying so hard because she had showed up and I wanted her to have a good experience.  I was trying to entertain her but she was seriously being soo bad.  Finally I picked her up and started bouncing her on my lap and she just fell right asleep... tender mercies!  This week was seriously so great and I am understanding a lot more Spanish and speaking a lot more too. Thank you everyone for the letters, I love you!

I forgot to tell you about today! So today our district went on an adventure to a waterfall. It was seriously soo fun! I have a bunch of pictures but my camera died so I will send them next week.  It was so beautiful though and I just loved it.   We had to wade through a bunch of rivers to get there. Anyway when we got there there was a bunch of vines and I decided I would swing on one. I found a nice strong one and I got up the courage and right when I jumped it broke and I fell in a HUGE mud puddle. I was seriously covered and I was laughing so hard.  Luckily I didn't land on any rocks.  That would happen to me.   But then they made me take a shower in the waterfall so it was so worth it.   Also all the mangoes and avocados are ripe here and my life is so great.  The neighbors have a tree that goes over into our yard so sometimes we just reach out the window and grab some.   It's so great. anyway, love you!
