Riding on a bag of beans

Hola everyone! So I had the best week ever. First I LOVE my new companion hermana Brockman.  We are getting along so great and working so hard. It turns out I got the other hermana's area which means we are basically whitewashing because we know nothing about the area. Bad news, N&W are not in our area so hermana D gets to teach them. I am super super sad and when I found out I cried a little bit but I know it's for the best and I will still get to visit them sometimes. So its okay. Coming into this transfer was really stressful for us because we inherited a new area that we know nothing about and we also are working in Parra.   But, we prayed and fasted a lot and decided we are only going to work with menos activos. So literally our goals for the week are zero for everything and then 50 menos activo lessons. I am SO excited. Every time we go up to Parra we just have the greatest day ever. It's really hard and it makes for a long day but we know we are supposed to be working up there. Although all of Parra is menos activo we see so much potential in these people and we love them so much. The first day Brockman and I went up there we had 15 lessons. There are so many menos activos I just started asking everyone we saw if they were members and pretty much all of them were. Needless to say we have work coming out of our ears. One thing I have learned about menos acitvo work is that it requires a lot of patience. Some of these people never had testimonies and others are just a little lost. But we just need to have love for these people and try help them find their testimonies. I just keep feeling like we are going to see miracles this transfer. I just know it.   The great thing is the branch has noticed our efforts and the animo (excitement) is spreading. The branch is so excited to work with us in Parra and they are being so supportive. It's actually an answer to our prayers. We have been praying for unity within our branch and they have come together to work together with us. We are coming up with lots of great ideas and we are so excited. I seriously cannot tell you how happy I am right now. Everything is good.  We are working so hard and God is blessing us so much.

Yesterday there were only 10 people in the branch in Parra which is less then usual.  Sometimes it's frustrating but then I think about Christ. Christ's life was not easy so it does not make sense that this work would be easy either. The hard times are humbling but they help us to go to Christ and become like him. So right now we are going up to Parra 3 times a week and our other area 3 times a week which takes about 45 minutes to walk to as well. Yesterday I felt like I was going to die because I have never been more tired in my life.  But we prayed super hard and we just knew that we were supposed to go up to Parra so God would provide the way. And we were right, God blessed us with a bola (ride?). On the way up we rode in the back of a truck with a bunch of Haitians who were actually super nice and let us sit on a bag of beans. On the way down we got a ride from a bunch of Dominicans from Brooklyn. We actually had a great conversation with them about the gospel too. I am so excited for this transfer. Thanks for all the love everyone, have a great week!
