Boiled Peanuts for Lunch

Okayyyy. So last Monday we made corn dogs for lunch (creative, right) and then went to A's. We talked about seeds and farming because we are going to plant a garden in our yard. We also talked about the book of mormon. Later we made pita bread and black bean hummus. soo fancy. Monday we studied and tried to make snowflakes out of old baptism rejstros to bring some holiday spirit to our town. Unfortunately all mine looked like spiders and huishs looked like boxes. Disappointing. Then we went to M who is nine and really cute but has a seriously hard time paying attention.  Good news, they had a bunch of puppies running around so that was fun. The puppies were obviously really hungry and when they saw their mom they ran so fast and started nursing. But then the girl dog was still hungry and tried to get milk from her brothers... errr... awkward. And then M picked the girl puppy up and put its face right next to hers and told the dog she needed to respect her brothers.  Her brother named k rolled his eyes and said she was a media-loca. 

Then we went to Y who is the best and gave her a fecha. Next we went to M who hid from us and acted like she wasn't there. That's when MA decided to tell us that her dad was the rey of all the bruhos here in our town. Black magic master. And that he snatches little kids from hospitals when they are almost dead but not quite and then sells them to carnivors in Haiti. We asked Hermana Moronta about it and its all true! And sometimes he puts people spirits in cows and sells them to devils. Everyone pray for me and if my spirit ends up in a cow just know that I love you all and you can give all my stuff to charity. Needless to say, we gave her as a reference to the other hermanas because we don't want to chance it. So then we went to C who is the spaziest funniest man we have ever met. We were singing "families can be together forever" and after every line in the chorus he said "exacto" and we were dying laughing. Later we had to teach beats for the 7th time but I think they finally got it.

Wednesday we taught Ev and she asked us exactly when Jesus Christ was resurrected... err they forgot to write that in the folletos I think . She is a genius! In her end prayer she prayed that her great grandma would be let into the celestial kingdom which we haven't even taught her yet. She is our best investigator and she is only 10. Then we went to a menos activo and they fed us yummy dominican espeguettis. yum. Then we ran to Gi and we got there way late. We read the b.o.m. with him and we finished and looked at the clock... 8:50.... eek. So we ran home really fast and had to tell Elder Quiroga that we were really late and he said that we had to call president so we got nervous. Anyway, we didn't actually have to call him so that was good. It's really crazy to think that I have 19, 20 and 21 year old friends who are married and have babies and I have to call and check in to a 19 year old elder who tells me what to do. But it's good I guess.

Friday we went to a menos activo named St. who has a 4 year old niece. We finished singing the first song and we look over and the little girl is sitting straight up in her chair and bawling. Then she slid around off and on chairs and on the ground the whole lesson crying the whole time because she wanted to sing with us.  We tried to sing another song at the end and when she realized she actually can't read the hymns she cried even more and Huish, Santa and I were laughing so hard and couldn't even finish the hymn. priceless. Then we went to k$ and E was there. Okay, let's talk about answers to prayers. Really E can't get baptized without serious friends in the ward for support, or family and her family definitely doesn't want to come to church. But if she is friends with k$ and P, a member, she can totally get baptized. We went back to E later and we gave her a book of Mormon and she was so stoked! We found out she reads the bible every single day. She's the best!  Then we went to J and she put her baby in the washer to keep her busy. Classic Dominican.  So Funny!

Saturday I was boiling beans for lunch and I tasted them and they were definitely peanuts... okay embarrassing. All the hermanas were laughing at me. But in my defense, when peanuts have their red shells on them they look exactly like red beans. Especially when they are wrapped in clear plastic without writing and sold next to the black beans. We told that to several people throughout the day and they died laughing. Sunday we finally went to G. He is the best! We talked to him about priesthood. We thought we should explain it because he actually has the priesthood. Then we went to GI who is going to be a famous baseball player someday. Famous Mormon baseball player that is. He is reading the B.O.M. and so far his favorite part is when nephi cut off the head of laban... typical boy. But he is so great and Aland Yo and Evand Eduardo are all so great! I will seriously be so sad if I leave this transfer. Anyway, love you! all a lot!
