Coke on the Sabbath?

Hola!
So this week was really great. Right when I was getting better Hermana D
got sick so we had to stay in Monday night and Tuesday.  There was
one day that everyone in our entire district was super sick. And also the
rest of Ocoa. I guess there was a virus going around.  Wednesday we
FINALLY got to go out.  By that day I was seriously dying of boredom.  We taught another 14 year old who is married. It seriously freaks me out. These little little girls get married and have babies.

We met with a lot of other menos activos which was great and tried to catch up with the people who we had missed when we were sick. Our last sita of the day was with L and her family.  Weird fact, One
of the sons has 6 fingers as well as many other people here in Ocoa.
It's not like a whole finger, just an extra appendage connected to the
pinky finger and it kind of flops around.  But they have nails so I
think its a finger. I think it's like cool to have one because no one
cuts them off.  Anyway, it freaks me out.   But I am praying and
hopefully I will get over it sometime soon.  Anyway we had a super
great lesson with them.  They are so solid which is great.  By this
time Hermana D and I were feeling a little sick just because we had been
sick and we had been walking around all day and it was super hot.  Then
L gave us juice which she usually gives to us and we didn't feel
sick anymore so we call it magic juice.  The first time I had it I thought it was kind of weird but now I love it.  We found out that it is carrot,
naranja(orange), beet, oat juice. weird right?  The people here love their
carrot juice.   My favorite though, is cherry juice. mm so good.  And it's
all fresh and the people always give it to us. It's seriously the best!

(She sounds like Nacho Libre here)

Anyway, Thursday we had an AWESOME english class.   So many people
showed up. Members, nonmembers, menos activo and investigators. It's
seriously so fun and we sing songs.  It's pretty entertaining.  We also
did a lot of contacting.  Most people hate it but I kind of actually
like it.  Everyone lets us in, but the problem is nobody actually
listens.  It can get frustrating but that's how we find people most of
the time.  Hermana D hates contacting though so that can get a little
rough.  That night, since we always have extra time I was reading in
Jesus the Christ which I really love. I was reading about parables
Christ gave, specifically the prodigal son and the great supper.  I
loved the great supper. It talked about a man who invited his friends
to a feast and when it was time no one was prepared to come.  That made
me think a lot about being prepared now rather than later and doing
the things we need to do.  Friday we went to Bani for zone conference.
KILL ME. It is seriously the worst ride ever. It's only like 30 miles away
but there is construction so it takes about 2 hours and the bus is
always jam packed and there is no air. The girl next to me was
throwing up the whole time in a bag.  It was super sad and I felt
really bad but it smelled super gross.  Great zone meeting. I got all
the dear elders and some letters and I was in heaven. Everyone was
super jealous. That night we had another lesson with L.  They are
getting baptized next week (yay!) so we have to meet with them a lot in
the coming week. During the lesson the nine year old was taking a
shower and then he walked out COMPLETELY naked but with shoes on and grinning from ear to ear.  He thought he was so funny and his mom was screaming and I was just laughing and holding my book of Mormon in
 front of my face.

Saturday we went out to lunch and the elders happened
to be there.  We went and bought a cake for Y who is the son of
 L.  He turned 8 which was a huge deal because his family has been
waiting for him to turn 8 so that they could get baptized together. We
had a party and it was super fun because one of the elders used to
teach them.  Then we had a menos activo activity with the other
hermanas. A ton of people showed up and we did lehis dream and made
them dress up and stuff and we had a broom stick for the iron rod. it
was great.  That lasted several hours. Then we went to go to some
sitas, This was like around 7, and then the other hermans called us and

said our house was flooded.... so we ran to the`president of the Ramas (Branch?) house ( he is so awesome and helps us out with stuff all the time) so we go to our house and there was like 6 inches of water EVERYWHERE. except in our room which was a huge blessing because all of my scriptures were on the floor. I seriosuly dont know why it didn't go in
our room. It was so crazy and we had to sweep all the water off our
balcony. The other girls had a lot of stuff ruined so that was really sad.

Sunday we went to bani AGAIN for the district conference. A lot of our
investigators and menos activos showed up so that was really great.
The Rama rented gua guas so we all met at the church and went
together. The conference was great but we ended up babysitting for
most of the time. Some of our jovenes (members?) left the conference, went and bought coke and came back and drank it during the meeting. I was just hitting my head (probably because it wasn't diet coke). Later we had some sitas (discussions/lessons?). We met with A, a recent convert who is 15.  This girl seriously just has it figured out.  She was at the conference with the other jovenes who bought the coke but she didn't go and stayed by herself.  We were super proud.  But she was just bearing her testimony to us and she was crying and we were crying.  She is seriously so great and she was only baptized 2 months ago.  She's the one who wants to go on a mission.  She tells all her friends about the church.  So we were having a great moment and then C walked in and killed the spirit.  But she totally told him off.   We have been teaching him but he kind of just wants to flirt and its obnoxious. But she told him off and bore her testimony and it was super great.

Then we went to F and A's.  They are really great and want to get baptized but don't want to get married:(  We dont meet with them often but sometimes we just stop by to see how they are doing.  Anyway, at the end they made us a bitida which is the greatest thing in the world.  It's fruit and milk and sugar and ice. mm so good. AND it was a mango bitida which is my favorite.  And then they gave us a huge bag of mangos and we were in heaven because mangos are kind of hard to come by in Ocoa.
Bad news, Y the daughter of L didn't come to the conference.  She is 11 and she just started a computer class on sundays during church time that lasts for 3 months so she is not going to be able to be baptized with her family:(  We were super sad.  But the good news is the rest are getting baptized this Saturday.  We are so excited!! Today we came to Bani for a 3rd time in 3 days.  But it was totally worth it. We had a picture scavenger hunt all around Bani with our whole zone. We ran a whole lot and it was
super, super fun.  We came in third... but first for the girls. Anyway,
that was my week. I haven't read any of your emails and I am running
out of time, sorry, I will try to hurry and respond.  But if I don't
respond, I love you all and hope you have a great week. I cant believe
transfers are this week. ah! I am 100 percent sure I will be staying
in Ocoa with my same companion so yay!  Anyway, love you all!
