Hola! This week was really crazy. Tuesday we got a call from president that there was a HUGE hurricane coming. They told us that we would probably have to stay inside for two weeks and we wouldn't have water for two weeks. So we spent that whole day buying big tubs and filling them up with water and buying non perishables and taping our windows and stuff. Wednesday the hurricane hit.  It rained super, super hard and there was tons of thunder and lighting.  A lighting bolt hit right next to our house and shook our house. We were all screaming and hiding under our beds.   We were super bored though.  We studied and then we made a transfer bracket because we are getting nervous even though it's still two weeks away.   That night there was a lizard in our kitchen and all four of us sat on the floor and watched it try to catch a moth.   That's how bored we were.  Then we had a dance party to church songs.   Then I jumped rope for awhile.   It turns out the hurricane had just been hyped up because we went out Thursday and we were fine.
Hermana D and I decided this week that we are going to work primarily with menos activos.  Our branch is really suffering and we just feel like this would be the best way to build the branch.   So there is this area called Parra up on another mountain.   It used to be the elders area but they kind of abandoned it because no one was progressing.   Also, it takes an hour to walk there so it's kind of of pain.   But we decided we need to work up there because pretty much everyone up there is menos activo and they all belong to our branch.   So Saturday we left the house at 9 to go up there and it was such an adventure.  We had to cross this river that was actually pretty rough because of all the rain.   There were some boys waiting on either side to help people across and one of them made me hold his hand because he didn't want me to get carried down stream.   How sweet.   Parra is sooo beautiful.   It's poorer than the pueblo but there are mango trees everywhere and waterfalls and its super green.   Also, we were able to meet with A TON of menos activos and they are all so great and we had some really great spiritual lessons. People kept trying to feed us and give us juice which was nice but by the end of the day we had had like 12 meals.  Hermana D and I both feel like we need to work up there more often. I want president to get a house up there and let us work up there only with menos activos, but we will see.   We didn't get home until 9 at night which made for a twelve hour day and we were so so tired.
I cant believe that the transfer ends in 2 weeks!  I don't think I ever expressed how great my district has been the last four weeks. We had some really great American elders and we had so much fun.   Anyway, they both got transferred out yesterday.   One had extended so he went home and the other got sent to the capital.   Needless to say, D and I are really sad and we will get no more American talk time.  We are now the only Americans on the mountain.   But there is a weird colony of Canadians here.   A lot of people have Canadian flags hanging up and people ask me if I am Canadian all the time.  So we are still teaching N&W and they are still really awesome. They are so sweet and they love the gospel. We also have a new investigator named G.   We are really excited to teach her and get to know her!
This week I was reading in Jacob and thinking a lot about being an example of the believers.. right now, it's very obvious that I am a representative of Christ.   But when I go home I hope that I will be able to live in such a way that others know by the way I act and talk, that I am a Representative of Christ.   People notice the way we live and hopefully they will be able to see the love and light of Christ through us.  Anyway, got to go but i love you all!  Our zone has interviews tomorrow so everyone pray for me because I am freaking out. love you! Hermana Rush
