Stressful & Great
first of all... CONRATS SASS! i seriously am soo excited for you and when we get back we can just all talk spanish together. or at least three of us... that means the rest of the family better start learning! so this week was super hectic crazy stressful but at the same time one of the best weeks ever. so monday night we had a really funny lesson with almando and the juan feliz family. i was trying to explain ordenances and covenants to almando and he was having a hard time understnading it. i was just about to give a really easy analogy when juan feliz said he was going to explain it super simlply and then starts off with... so say you want to buy a solar panel... wait what? we were laughing pretty hard and almando was definitely more confused but its okay we got it straightened out. tuesday we bought wheat to try to make wheat bread because they only have white here. we tried to grind it in the blender but it didnt really work so then we were just left with a huge bag of wheat with no way to use it. so finally we just decided to fry it. welcome to the dr where we try to be healthy and then just end up frying it. later we taught this really great kid named greby. the problem is his cousins name is gredy. gredy greby. greby gredy. i cant keep them straight. dominicans are the worst with names. either the make up their own names or the name all their kids the same name. like frangeli, frangeli (with the acent on the last name) and frandeli. yes that is a real family we are working with. so wednesday we were walking to a cita with gabriel. his brother is a return missionary and his niehbor too and we just thought they were the biggest bums ever. but when we got there pollo was excercising and hector was blasting motab and cleaning the floors. then he quoted us the mission handbook. when we asked him if he went to bed at 1030 he got all offended and said... i am in bed by ten so that i can read for half an hour. lets hope i am not that weird when i get home. later we taught the two little girls, eveni and lory who are awesome still. . thursday we taught gabriel about the godhead and he totally understood. he is so so smart. its the greatest thing to watch him understand and feel the spirit. he told us that when he is at church he feels somthing special inside. isnt that great? later two hermanas from san juan came to do intercambios with us which was really great. but the problem is we dont have extra matresses so hermana huish thought we would take one for the team and sleep on the floor. worst idea ever. i swear we have the hardest floor and neither of us slept. firday interviews. we basically sat around allday for a ten minute interview. hermana rodriguez talked for a long time about how shameful it was to get on facebook on your mission... duh. but it crazy to me how different mission are in different parts of the world. liek makaelee gets an ipad and iphone at the end of this month. in our dreams. i feel really bad for president though. it was his birtdhay and we were the last zone to have interviews and it was transfer week so he must have been exhausted. actaully i know he was because he said amen in the middle of my prayer and i just had to play it off. saturday... BAPTISM DAY!! so the day started off at 8 when we went to clean the church and the pila which had tarantulas in it. but luckily aton of people were there to help so we didnt actually have to do it. then we started filling the font and had district meeting and then after that the interviews of the people to be baptised, because the other hermanas had one too. stress number one. oly showed up 45 mintues late. the thing with her is that she knows its true with all her heart. she has the sweetest strongest testimony. but, she has put off her baptism for 6 months jsut becuase she doesnt like the spotlight or big groups of poeple. but she finally came so we were happy. and she passed, woohoo! then we went home and made cookies and prepared more stuff for the baptism. then we went to a cita with maria but she wasnt ever there so it looks like we will have to delay her baptism AGAIN. at 5 we show up at the church and the font is empty.. ahh! mind you it took 5 hours to fill the first time. well we figured that out and had 5 different hoses filling it up. and then oly shows up 45 mintues late... and when she showed up she was SUPER nervous. she saw how many people were in teh building, because there were A TON, and she didnt want to go in. and she asked me if we could just do it another saturday. no, oly, no we cannot. by this time i was freaking our, huish ws freaking out and oly was definitely freaking out. we finally got her calmed down and i gave her her scooter keys back and she but them in her motor and started to take off. turns out she was just playing a joke but it actually wasnt really funny. so we got her in the capilla but she didnt want to wear a jumpsuit or take pictures or give her testimony after. we finally got her in a jumpsuit and to kind of take pictures and we got the meeting started. we were really sad becuase no one from her family showed up. but by the time it ws time for the baptisms she was all happy and smiley and she literally ran to the pila... it was really cute. and when she came out of the font she was so happy and just glowing. she is not really one to express her feeling but she was so happy! it has been such a blessing to get to know her and have the opportunity to learn from her. she is definitely a special person in mine and hermana huishes lives. so saturday oly was confirmed, yay! newest member of the church. the for the next two hours hermana huish and i tried to figure out the baptism of gabirel. he was supposed to get baptized with his mom but she is in the capital and not really ready yet so we had to call her a ton of times but he is getting baptized this sarutday! he is so happy. literallty every time we see him he does the sign of baptism and tells us how many days he has left. he is the cutest. now we are trying to figure out how to m ake a baptism special for someone who is deaf. themost important thing though is that he will be able to feel the spirit. we are so excited and have to finish up teaching him the commandments this week. so transfer calls were last night and our whole house is staying the same. obviously God thinks i have somthing to learn from hermana moronta ... like patience or something. but i really am excited for this transferr and for all the things that are happening in sabana yegua. hope you guys are all doing great... love you!
