Birthday Week

This week was so great and crazy¡ Transfers happened so we have a new hermana in the house who is super nice. She is also from Guatemala like my companion. Wednesday we realized Dd had to work the next three days so we had to do an emergency last minute baptism interview. We called the elders and we all ran to the capilla (chapel) and on the way we quizzed him on all the stuff. Good news... he passed.

Thursday was my birthday. Ahh I am so old. I had leadership meeting which was so great, of course, and very edifying. President talked about the general conference talk by one of the apostles. The story of Peter when he invited the man to walk and then gave him his hand to help him up. I love that and it's so true¡ We have to invite people to learn and then we have to help them. We have to give them opportunities to feel the spirit and develop a testimony. Anyway, i have the best mission hija (daughter-Olivia) in the world. She sent me the cutest birthday package ... how did I get so lucky? Also a lot of other people were so nice and remembered my birthday. Later we went home and had a cita (lesson) with Ro who I love with all my heart. We are working with her on family history so that we can go with her to the temple in a couple of weeks. Then we went to yogen fruz (classic) and subway and we got home really late but my zone leader approved it and said it was my birthday present. And then we tried about 100 times to take a jumping picture, but we failed. Also, thank you family for for the package I LOVED IT. also thank you everyone else for the emails. I love you all.
Best part of this week... BAPTISM of Dd. It was a crazy morning. First there was no water and then the pila (font) overflowed and there was water everywhere. But its okay and David is seriously the best. He was nervous but after his baptism he bore the most sincere sweetest testimony. He talked about how is has changed his life around and how he feels like a new person and can do good things in this world. Sunday both he and Ro were confirmed and received callings.  Ro is the secretary of mujeres joevenes (young women) and Dd bibliotecario aka librarian. haha  also all three of the 70 were there and I don't know what it was, but sacrament meeting was one of the most special I have had in my mission. Powerful I tell you.
Last night we explained to Dd more about his calling and about the priesthood and he was so excited and so so happy. It has been the greatest being here and seeing these people change their lives and be baptized. Bad news is that we now have 0 investigaors. But I guess that's the price we pay for having baptisms. La iglesia es verdadera! le amo MUCHO!  (The church is true.  I love you a lot!)
