Sakpase? Creole for what?

Sakpase! If you were wondering if that is spanish, its not. It's creole. There are a ton of hatians here in the capital so we are picking up a little bit and they think it's' the funniest thing when we talk to them in creole. This week was Semana Santa (resurrection sacred week-Easter) which is like a capital missionaries nightmare. Everyone... I mean everyone... packed up and went to the campo for the whole week. So we did a lot of walking and searching and sharing with every person we came across. One day it rained soo hard and we had to take shelter in the CCM (MTC) for a little bit. Then all the lights in the city went out which was kind of scary because there was no one in the streets so we ran really fast without shoes on because it was still raining and there were rivers in the steets and we thought we were going to get robbed. But then we went home and drank hot chocolate which is a rare thing in the dr.

Another day we had to contact in the callejon because we literally had no plans and we invited 7 people to be baptized.  But I think they were all drunk so I don't think it counts. We did have a cool experience though. We were walking throuh the streets just minding our own business when a kid contacted US and wanted us to vist him. We had a great lesson with him and there is a possiblity he could be golden. He had a lot of great questions. But the best part is his brother is like a major basebell player and just signed to play with the D-backs!!!! Crazy right? His name is Ax. The one we are teaching is named Fk. All prayers for Fk will be accepted because we are really rooting for him. Also during our first lesson with him his dad came out and tried to accompany our hymn with his guitar but he couldn't find the note so we had to sing families are forever 4 times and in the end he made up his own version. It was so great we sang it all day.

This week we are going to the temple with Ro to do family names. Also Dd got sacedcio (the priesthood) and after he was glowing. Seriously, I have never seen anyone so happy. This work is so rewarding! This week I studied a lot about faith and how I can be a missionary of faith. Faith is all about action and what we are willing to do to see miracles. God is always willing to bless us if we are willing to make sacrifices. Also, in church on Sunday I met the Jamaica mission president and his wife and we totally talked about Michael and they said they talk to him on facebook. small world. I hope you are all doing great... LES QUERIO MUCHO Y ESPERO QUE TENGAN UNA BUENA SEMANA!!!

xoxo, Hermana Rush
