Hola! This week was SO great. I really don't think it could have been any better. Best news of the week was the baptism of Ro! Watching her learn and accept the gospel was amazing. God was definitely preparing her. I don't like to even take credit for teaching her because we didn't do much. We went to teach her about Diezmo and she said "well I read about it in the George Fielding Smith manual and I talked about it with the bishop and Mo (her boyfriend) and I am rearranging my finances so that I can pay a full tithe".... and she is getting married June 17 to her boyfriend and they are getting sealed in a year.
We all watched general conference in the church and then after we all migrated to the baptism room and she was baptized. After her baptism she bore her testimony and man was it powerful. She talked about having an eternal family and that's what she had always wanted but never knew where to find it. When she came to the church the first time it was a fifth Sunday and the ward talked about family history and the family search program. She saw all the families and knew without a doubt that's where she needed to be. The church is true everyone!

So that was awesome. Then we got to watch general conference in English in a members house on couches with snacks and lunch. How did I get so lucky? Conference was the best! I forgot my conference journal but I loved Uchtdorf's talk about gratitude. I also liked the talk about the Olympics, like sass because I was super out of the loop on all that stuff. But all the speakers were on top of their game this year. Also, did you pay attention to Elder Zivic's talk because I know him. Yup, he's in my ward and I talk to him on a regular basis. I was hoping he'd talk about the "awesome missionaries in his ward" but he just ran out of time I guess. So I also heard rumors that a plane was lost in Japan, Russia invaded Ukraine and there was a giant earthquake in Chile? true? transfers... my companion and are staying and Hermana Reyes is leaving. We think we might be getting 2 more hermanas in our house but we will find out tonight.
Anyway, I love you all! Yes, sadly my birthday is this week. I am a viejita (an old lady) now but it's okay. Thanks for all the birthday wishes and letters. You are all the best. I love you! Hermana Madison Rush
