HOLA everyone? como estan? This week was a lot of really great things and a few not so great things. So first great thing Hermano Jonhson gave us an amazing reference. We got to her really nice apartment and the guard was skeptical of us so he called her and she let us in and we victory danced to her door because its not every day you get into an edificio in Piantini. So we chatted and got to know her for awhile and turns out she has a son who is at this boarding school type thing in Provo. Weird right? I didn't even know there were boarding schools in Provo but there is. And he told her awhile ago that if he had to pick one religion to join it would be the Mormons because they are really great. Then she told us that she read a book written by Joseph Smith's mom and watched the Emma movie and that they both talked about "the plates" but it didn't talk more about them and she was dying to know what they were. So we gladly talked about the book of Mormon and we gave her a copy and she was like "some people say there is only one bible but I am really interested in what this book says so I am going to read it and pray about it to know if it is of God"and we just sat there and blinked for a minute because that's what we were supposed to say and she totally took the words out of our mouth. So that was a really cool experience. We don't have another cita with her until Wednesday and we are so excited. And her whole family will be there too! God IS BLESSING US.
So the same day DV, an investigator told us he is getting baptized April 12th so that's also exciting. And also, we went to bishop's house and he told us Ro and Mo are getting married! To and her daughter were the ones who were our investigators but lived in a different area... anyway bishop told us that because they were getting married she could get baptized in piantini and come back to church in our area which was so exciting because the ward missed her a lot.
Friday, we got to go to the temple! What a blessing it is to be able to go to the temple. The new video is so great. I wish I could go every day because I felt so peaceful after. So that was a lot of really great things that happened this week. bad thing... we got a call from president yesterday and had to have an hour long conference call with him and the hermanas from quisqueya (aka the area in which Ro lives). basically they called him and threw a fit and then he told us we were supposed to call the stake president and get permission for her to get baptized in our area which was a mala honda because the bishop said it was fine and also we had called him 12 times (literally) and he didn't answer and also because they announced her baptism in church. Long story short its a mess but the good news is that no matter where she gets baptized she will get baptized and she will move to piantini in like a month when she gets married. Anywway, the work is great here in piantini. love you all!
