Mini Van Drag Race

KLOK mis amigos???? In case anyone forgot, I hit ONE YEAR this week. Crazy right? The time is going by way too fast.  This week we invited CN to be baptized... she said YES!!!!! We didn't give her a date because she doesn't feel ready yet but we are going to put one soon. She still has a lot of progress to make but we are super excited. Also, she still has to come to church but.... we are working on it.

Our area is pretty much huge apartment buildings that all have guards. But there are two really poor areas called callejones. Basically they are block houses all built around and on top of each other. It's crazy.  There is this one part where we have to take our backpacks off and scooch sideways or else we don't fit. Anyway, we were contacting there for like the 50th time and had a terrible day. One lady said, after a 30 minute lesson, that nothing was entering her head because we were liars and she was catholic. Another lady, in the middle of the lesson, grabbed her cross, closed her eyes and started rocking back and forth and humming... okay... well then God gave me revelation that we should stop contacting there because we were wasting our time. I have been praying a lot to know what to do with this area and we have come up with some great ideas. The misison has asked us to capacitar all the leaders in the ward so we are going to capacitar all the members and get them excited about missionary work. We are going to doing something called noche de amistad which we are super excited about. There is a lot of potential in this area and we have a lot of plans and ideas in the works so I know God is going to bless us.
Other eventful things that happened this week.... I got to do intercombios with hermana Jorgeson and her companion this week which was so fun and I was so happy to see them! But on the way our guaguita (mini van that you pay to ride in along with 20 other people) got in a DRAG RACE. All jokes aside I was scared for my life. But we lived so it's okay. Also Jorgenson's house has a huge rat problem which makes me count my blessings. Yesterday we visited a bunch of members and one of them gave us ice cream AND references. God is for sure looking out for us. So this week I was reading in jacob 5 which I have come to love. I love how diligent the master of the vineyard is. I have definitely learned that diligence is the key to missionary work. Sometimes we think... what more could we have done? And like the servant said... leave it a little longer and work a little harder. It was definitely something I needed to hear this week. I love how God helps us hear things when he knows we need to hear them. Les quiero MUCHO!
