Hi everyone! So we had another great week and saw a lot of changed hearts. Experiencia uno, we have been kind of visiting this lady named Ea ever since I got here in Piantini and I think they even visited her before. She's super catholic but she always reads what we give her. She started reading the BOM and she was pretty skeptical but then we read chapter 5 and she LOVED it and she made us read chapter 6 and 7 and 8 all together. Man, it was a long lesson but we really saw her open her heart and feel the spirit.
Experiencia dos, Familia Gl... they are inactive and just moved into our ward but we have been visiting them a lot and reading the Book of Mormon. This last Sunday the mom went to church with her two kids. We had a lesson on Wednesday and the mom said she was going to change her work schedule so she could go to church every Sunday. Experiencia tres, One of my first days here we contacted a woman named La who lives really close to the temple. She seemed promising but we could never get more than two citas (appointments) with her so we kind of forgot about her. She called us one night and asked for a cita. We went to her house and she had read a ton in the Book of Mormon. Then she started crying and telling us a ton of blessings she had received (and she held up her book of Mormon) from being in the path God wanted her to be in. Definitely a week of miracles.
So here in Piantini we actually have a lot of potentially great but non progressing investigators. So Sunday my companion and I fasted to know how to help them progress. Well Sunday afternoon we had a lesson with a member and he shared a lot of insight with us that was EXACTLY what we needed to hear, and exactly what we need to help our investigators understand. Definitely strengthened my testimony that God is listening and will answer our prayers.
DR tradition is that the first rain in May is lucky and we heard that everyone runs out and dances in the rain. So on the first it stared pouring rain in the night so we ran outside, but no one else was there. But it was still fun. I also found out that with the first rain in may in Guatemala fall giant ants and everyone runs and gathers them and they fry them and eat them with beans and rice.... Yes, my compànion is from Guatemala. Also, I had my last meeting with President and Hermana Rodriguez which was super sad and now they are in Canada. But anyway, love you all and have a great week. Cant wait to talk to you this week!
